Police said they arrested a 20-year-old Bryan man on a felony marijuana charge after they found the drug in his home.
Zacarias Jose Eusebio was arrested Monday on a charge of possession of from four ounces to five pounds of marijuana in a drug-free zone.
Bryan police said they were assisting with a state warrant roundup and went to a home in the 1300 block of Palasota Drive because it was listed as the address for a mother and son who had traffic warrants. Instead, police said, they found a couple and their young child at the home, which smelled like freshly burned marijuana.
The woman told police Eusebio had just smoked marijuana, according to a police report. Eusebio at first denied having marijuana in his home, but the woman showed police where his marijuana blunt was, police said. He then showed police where he had five bags of marijuana and scales, according to a police report.
Because he lives near an elementary school, the charge was enhanced to a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.
Eusebio remained jailed Tuesday on $10,000 bail.
