A 47-year-old Bryan man was in jail Friday night after officers conducting a traffic stop determined that he had a warrant for his arrest and found drugs in his vehicle, authorities said.
Brazos County deputy constables stopped Kenneth Paul Wiginton's vehicle near East 17th Street and Washington Avenue in Bryan because he didn't use his turn signal, according to a police report.
Officers discovered a theft-by-check warrant from Hale County and arrested him, according to the report.
While searching him and his vehicle, officers collected 50 Vicodin tablets, 22 Adderall tables, a Xanax pill and a bag of methamphetamine, officials said.
Wiginton was being held in the Brazos County Jail on Friday in lieu of $37,500 bail. He faces two state jail felony drug-possession charges, each punishable by a maximum of two years behind bars, a first-degree felony drug charge and a second-degree felony drug charge.
The second-degree felony is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. The first-degree charge can bring a life term.
