Suspect sought in Hearne robbery

Hearne police are asking for the public's help in finding the man who robbed the Hearne Food Mart at gunpoint last week.

The robber is black, between 120 and 140 pounds and between 4 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall.

He was last seen wearing black pants, a black sweater, black gloves and a blue ski mask.

Detective Steve Grace said the man used a small silver handgun during the Thursday robbery and got away with an undetermined amount of money.

He said it was unclear whether the man left on foot or in a vehicle. Police said they believed the man acted alone.

Robertson County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the man's arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-299-0191. To reach Grace, call 279-5333.

Wow, even with nearly a foot height range listed, that's a tiny, tiny man. Maybe he was too short to appear on surveillance. I'm confident, however, that such a distinctive-looking thug will be caught shortly...
