Woman accused in scissors stabbing

-- Eagle staff report

A 37-year-old woman was in the Brazos County Jail on Friday, accused of stabbing her husband with scissors.

Jacquelyn Turner of College Station was arrested Thursday on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Bryan police responding to a disturbance at Holiday Plaza on Texas Avenue reported finding a 42-year-old man with a 3-inch gash on his arm.

The man told officers that he was arguing with Turner over his plans to hang out with his cousin when she stabbed him with scissors, according to the report.

Turner told police that the man had been cheating on her and was using his cousin as a cover to see another woman, according to the report. She said the man punched her in the face when they got into an argument and that she fought back but didn't stab him, according to the report. She said he must have stabbed himself, the report states.

Turner's bail had not been set Friday afternoon.

Aggravated assault is a second-degree felony with a maximum punishment of 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

This hand to hand criminal combat on Texas Ave is another low point in Bryan. Not too many years ago this was a vibrant area of Bryan. Now it is a slum with narco trafficking, prostitutes and crime. Bryan residents should be ashamed of themselves for what they have done to Texas Ave. Having slum areas in back obscure corners may be the Bryan norm but now it is on your main thoroughfare. The only way to go through Bryan without going through a slum is the bypass. That is why it is called a bypass so you can bypass Bryan trash.
