A 47-year-old Bryan woman remained jailed late Sunday, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Bryan police responded at about 6 p.m. Saturday to a possible stabbing in progress on Old Hearne Road, where they found Diana Estes Samaripas locked in a bedroom.
Samaripas' 22-year-old daughter said her mother had a knife that she grabbed out of the dishwasher while the two were in an altercation earlier, according to the police report.
When police questioned the daughter, they noticed a cut on her hand and she said her mother did it when she was trying to get her to go to her bedroom. She said her mother was upset because her husband had left her, according to the report.
Police said Samaripas was intoxicated and uncooperative with authorities. Officers charged her with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years behind bars and a fine not to exceed $10,000.
Bail was set at $9,000.
The daughter was treated at the scene.
The below map shows police calls reported by the College Station Police Department each day from 6 a.m. to 6 a.m. (indicated by blue markers), police calls reported by the Bryan Police Department daily from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. (indicated by yellow markers), as well as incidents reported by The Eagle in Bryan, College Station and surrounding areas (indicated by red markers). So um....is her daughter going to come and visit on Mother's Day at our Good Ole TDCJ? Put money in her trust fund so her mom can make store at the commissary? Now Mommy can learn how to make cheaper weapons while she is locked up so the daughter better watch out and get rid of all the paper clips, pens, pencils, staples and use only plastic silverware and then throw it away after every meal when Mommy comes to visit.

Job security for all of us now, stupid woman. For those of us in the judicial or criminal justice system, we appreciate the written guarantee of our continued employment due to her intoxicated, insane and abusive treatment of her daughter.

Well I can say that this just goes to show that women can be just as stupid when intoxicated as men. As for stabbing your own daughter? I can't even fathom stabbing or shooting either one of my sons ages 19 and 14 and they both live with me.

It is so sad Bryan resident's have not figured out what the hide comment button means at the bottom of the page. No doubt they might be one of these people that may be the 26% that drop out. They should be more concerned about getting jobs and cleaning up their city. They should try to vote in better leaders. But no, they are more worried about a comment section. Just continue to let everything fall down around you while you live in ignorant bliss. Oh what a life. THE GOOD LIFE!

This lady USED to be my neighbor. Her & husband looked a little off. They were the motorcycle riding, black clothes, punk type. She told me she worked for the great city of CS. What kind of people do y'all hire. Not perfect ones I see. Then again what is perfect? It's not Bryan or College Station or the people who live there. Just shows you can work here and live there but crime, drugs, & dumb is all around. Obviously!

According to Texas DPS the crime rate in College Station increased at a record breaking pace of 18.2% in 2008. CSPD's own data for 2009 indicates a 41% increase in major crimes through May 2009. This crime wave is not concentrated in only three or four areas of College Station. Personally, I'd stay out of College Station all together.

"Jamie@CS, BTL, NBA, Rocky Patel jr.,and Huntsville Sam, & maybe CAPS_LOCK GWEN are the same poster." ------------------------------------------- The problem, as I see it, is that The Eagle doesn't force you to show your username. The moment they post a story about anyone being arrested in Bryan, within five minutes, there is guaranteed to be a post by Jamie@CS, NBA, and BTL, and it is guaranteed that those posts will have zero insight. The same goes for a story on an arrest in College Station. Wait a few minutes, and the Emerald City/Where are Jamie@CS, NBA, BTL posts will start flying. The posts will also have zero insight. I posted the other night as Abraham Lincoln. I did so to make a mockery out of a website that deserved to be made a mockery. I have no idea who Teddy Roosevelt was. If The Eagle wants to have feedback worth *anything* they should implement a new messaging system. User names should be displayed. Maybe even avatars. People come to value their accounts on such sites and usually post a little more responsibly. I encourage each of you (and The Eagle) to look at the Houston Chronicle's feedback system. They do have a few lunatic's on there, but *nothing* to compare with Jamie@CS or dead presidents. BTW, the account that I used to post this message is called "disposable." That says it all.

Get over it....there was apparently something wrong and if he left her he wasn't worth having there in the first place. Don't take it out on your own flesh and blood. Come on people. Life is way to short to waste time on a loser and than having to face being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years behind bars and a fine not to exceed $10,000. Think he is crying for her. I truly doubt it.

This tacit approval by the editors of the Bryan bashing has caused me to no longer list houses/apartments for rent in the Eagle. I have also convinced my brother-in-law to no longer list his vacancies. All told there are over 110 listings that once graced this paper that no longer do. Not much else can be done. But, you need to know the Eagle needs the unique clicks on the stories to be able to sell advertisements online. This is the reason the Eagle puts up with this crap.
