AUSTIN (AP) -- Here is the weekly fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for Nov. 12. (Report also available on Web as www.txfishing.com.)
CENTRAL
BASTROP: Water lightly stained. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on live minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on hot dogs, nightcrawlers, and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.
BELTON: Water clear; 71 degrees; 1.70' low. Black bass are good on Rat-L-Traps and spinnerbaits. Hybrid striper are good on live shad. White bass are fair on white Riversides and minnows in 20 feet under lights at night. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish to 5 pounds are good on hot dogs and stinkbait over holes baited with maize and cow cake. Yellow catfish are slow.
BROWNWOOD: Water clear; 71 degrees; 4.22' low. Black bass are fair on buzzbaits, Persuader crankbaits, and watermelon red or pumpkinseed soft plastic worms over brush piles in 1020 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Li'l Fishies and pet spoons off lighted docks at night. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are fair on cut bait and stinkbait over baited holes in 1220 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
BUCHANAN: Water clear; 72 degrees; 14.39' low. Black bass are good on 1/4oz. Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps, Skip-N-Pop topwaters, and Texas rigged weightless silver flake Whacky Sticks at daylight in 815 feet. Striped bass are fair casting and jigging Spoiler Shads (plastic swim baits) and Rat-L-Traps along the river channel in 2540 feet in the lower end close to the dam at daylight, and drifting or free lining live bait in 3040 feet. White bass are fair but small on Tiny Traps and 2" plastic swim baits along the river channel and in deep creeks. Crappie are fair on pink/white or chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows in clear water.
CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 73 degrees; 10.00' low. Black bass are fair to good on Rat-L-Traps and white spinnerbaits along creeks and ditches in bays in 6-15 feet, and on watermelon red Whacky Sticks on jigheads and Texas rigged grape Scoundrel worms on shaky head jigs along main lake bluffs, and on JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters, wacky rigged watermelon red Whacky Sticks, and Texas rigged blue flake worms tight to lay downs upriver. Striped bass are fair but small jigging blade baits and trolling Gizz 4 and deep running Shad Raps crankbaits over and around humps in the lower end at first light. White bass are slow. Smallmouth bass are good on Smokin' Green Devil's Tongues on drop shots, smoke JDC curl tail grubs on jigheads, and 3/16oz. pumpkin Curb's jigs with matching drop shot worms under cloud cover along ledges and over rock piles in 1020 feet early. Crappie are fair on minnows and crappie jigs upriver.
COLEMAN: Water clear; 72 degrees; 5.04' low. Black bass are good on watermelon spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are good on live minnows and chartreuse Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on live minnows. Channel and blue catfish are fair on stinkbait and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.
COLORADO RIVER: (At Colorado Bend State Park) Water clear. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows near the boat ramp. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on liver, stinkbait, and shrimp in deep holes.
FAYETTE: Water clear; 73 degrees. Black bass are good on watermelon gold, plum, and redbug Carolina rigged Finesse worms, and on topwaters and shallow running crankbaits over grass. Channel and blue catfish are slow.
GRANBURY: Water clear; 1.78' low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse soft plastic worms and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are good on live minnows. White bass are good on minnows, hellbenders, and pet spoons. Crappie are good on minnows and pink tube jigs. Catfish are good on shrimp and live minnows.
GRANGER: Water murky; 67 degrees; 3.16' low. Black bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows in 1015 feet. Blue catfish are good on fresh shad. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch upriver.
LBJ: Water stained; 71 degrees; 0.35' low. Black bass to 5 pounds are good on 1/8oz. Curb's buzzbaits, watermelon JDC Skip-N-Pops, and wacky rigged green pumpkin Whacky Sticks along lay downs and stumps in 46 feet early and late and all day under cloud cover. Striped bass are slow to fair trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits on downriggers and drifting live shad along the river channel close to the dam. White bass are fair vertically jigging Pirk Minnows under birds. Crappie to 16" are good on Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows over brush piles in 12-15 feet.
NAVARRO MILLS: Water murky; 72 degrees; 2.43' low. Black bass to 2 pounds are good on Rat-L-Traps and topwaters along the shoreline. White bass are slow. Crappie are good but small on minnows and tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish to 4 pounds are good on minnows on the bottom. Yellow catfish are slow.
PROCTOR: Water stained; 72 degrees; 4.39' low. Black bass are good on purple, black/yellow, and black/chartreuse soft plastic worms. Striped bass are fair on Rat-L-Traps. White bass are good but small on jigging spoons. Crappie are good on minnows in 1215 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on cut shad and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
SOMERVILLE: Water fairly clear; 2.62' low. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are very good on minnows and green/black jigs. Channel and blue catfish are very good on stinkbait, liver, and cheesebait. Yellow catfish are slow.
STILLHOUSE: Water clear; 71 degrees; 3.70' low. Black bass are very good on watermelon green, watermelon red, and green pumpkin soft plastic worms. White bass are slow. Crappie are excellent on minnows early and late. Channel and blue catfish are fair on nightcrawlers, hot dogs, and cut perch. Yellow catfish are slow.
TRAVIS: Water clear; 70 degrees; 24.22' low. Black bass are good on bone topwaters and green pumpkin worms in 522 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on chrome spoons and minnows in 3545 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and pink tube jigs in 1520 feet. Channel and blue catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and bloodbait in 3045 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
WALTER E. LONG: Water clear; 73 degrees. Black bass are good on minnows and dark soft plastic worms near the dam at night. Hybrid striper are good on minnows at night. White bass are good on cut shad and minnows near the power plant. Crappie are good on red wigglers. Channel and blue catfish are very good on shad and cut bait at the gravel pit. Yellow catfish are fair on goldfish.
WHITNEY: Water clear; 8.74' low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse and chartreuse/white spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and topwaters. Striped bass are fair on live minnows and white striper jigs. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are good on minnows and blue tube jigs. Catfish are good on bait shrimp and stinkbait.
NORTHEAST
ATHENS: Water lightly stained, 58-63 degrees; 0.78' low. Black bass are fair to good on crankbaits, chrome Rat-L-Traps and wacky rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs fished over brush piles. Catfish are good on cut and prepared bait.
BOB SANDLIN: Water fairly clear; 59-64 degrees; 0.36' low. Black bass are good on clear topwaters Spooks early, midday switching to wacky rigs, Rat-L-Traps and Texas rigs. White bass are good on slabs and Rooster Tails. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs around the Hwy. 21 bridge columns a few cranks off the bottom. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and cut bait.
BRIDGEPORT: Water fairly clear; 58-63 degrees; 6.53' low. Black bass are good on chrome Rat-L-Traps, Texas rigs and medium diving crankbaits White bass are good on slabs and live bait. Catfish are fair to good on cut bait.
CADDO: Water off color; 59-64 degrees; 0.32' high. Black bass are fair to good on Stanley Ribbits, spinnerbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows. White bass are good on minnows and Rooster Tails. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers.
CEDAR CREEK: Water lightly stained; 59-63 degrees; 2.39' low. Black bass are fair to good on spinnerbaits, Rat-L-Traps and Texas Rigs. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair to good on large slabs jigged vertically. Crappie are good over brush piles. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers.
COOPER: Water lightly stained; 58-63 degrees; 4.51' low. Black bass are good on Lake Fork Frogs and Zara Spooks, later switching to wacky and drop shot rigs. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows over brush piles. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs and live shad. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and cut bait.
FAIRFIELD: Water fairly clear; 79-88 degrees. No report available.
FORK: Water lightly stained; 59-64 degrees; 0.76' low. Black bass are fair to good on shallow and deep running crankbaits, Carolina rigs and slow rolled spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers and prepared baits.
GRAPEVINE: Water off color; 59-63 degrees; 6.44' low. Black bass are fair to good on Zara Spooks early, later switching to Texas rigs, medium to shallow crankbaits and wacky rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are fair to good on cut bait and nightcrawlers.
JOE POOL: Water off color; 58-64 degrees; 2.43' low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, Rat-L-Traps and shaky head jigs with a finesse soft plastic. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are fair to good on prepared baits and cut shad.
LAKE O' THE PINES: Water stained; 59-64 degrees; 0.08' low. Black bass are fair to good on chatterbaits, Texas rigs, flukes and wacky rigs. Crappie are good on minnows over brush piles. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers and cut shad. Bream are fair to good on red wigglers.
LAVON: Water stained; 59-63 degrees; 4.76' low. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits, crankbaits, Rat-L-Traps and Texas rigs. White bass are good on slabs and Rooster Tails. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are fair to good on cut shad and nightcrawlers.
LEWISVILLE: Water off color; 58-64 degrees; 4.12' low. Black bass are fair on weightless flukes, Texas rigs, chatterbaits and wacky rigs. White bass and hybrid striper are fair to good on slabs, live shad and Humdingers. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good drifting cut shad.

MONTICELLO: Water fairly clear; 74-90 degrees; 0.9' low. Black bass are good on wacky rigs, Rat-L-Traps and shallow running orange/brown crankbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are fair to good on cut shad and nightcrawlers.
PALESTINE: Water lightly stained; 63-68 degrees; 0.56' low. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigs, jigs, chatterbaits and chrome/black Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared bait. Hybrid striper and white bass are fair to good on slabs and Humdingers.
RAY HUBBARD: Water off color; 58-64 degrees; 1.45' low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits, chatterbaits, Rat-L-Traps and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. White bass are good on Humdingers in the shallows. Hybrid striper are fair on 4" swim baits in the shallows. Catfish are fair to good drifting cut shad in 20-25 feet.

RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water off color; 59-64 degrees; 3.35' low. Black bass are good on crankbaits, Rat-L-Traps and Carolina rigged Brush Hogs and lizards. White bass and hybrid striper are fair to good on Rooster Tails and slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs over deep brush piles. Catfish are good on cut bait, prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

SOUTH
AMISTAD: Water clear; 71 degrees; 0.90' high. Black bass are fair on topwaters, spinnerbaits, small crankbaits, Senkos, and deep jigs. Striped bass are fair on Rat-L-Traps and slabs. White bass are fair on Rat-L-Traps and slabs. Catfish are fair on cheesebait, shrimp, and nightcrawlers under a cork. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines and droplines baited with live perch. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.
BRAUNIG: Water stained; 73 degrees. Black bass are good on crankbaits and dark soft plastic worms. Striped bass are good on liver and shad. Redfish are good on crawfish, shad, shrimp, tilapia, and silver spoons. Channel catfish are good on liver, shrimp, cut bait, and cheesebait near the dam and the intake. Blue catfish are good on cut bait.
CALAVERAS: Water stained; 73 degrees. Black bass are very good on dark soft plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits around reed beds. Striped bass are slow. Redfish are fair on live bait, and on crawfish and tilapia near the dam. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on liver, shrimp, cheesebait, and shad near the railroad bridge and 181 Cove. Yellow catfish are slow.
CHOKE CANYON: Water lightly stained; 73 degrees; 4.65' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red and tequila sunrise soft plastics in 1525 feet. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and blue tube jigs. Drum are fair on live worms. Channel and blue catfish are good on nightcrawlers and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are fair on live perch and goldfish.
COLETO CREEK: Water clear; 72 degrees (78 degrees at discharge); 3.53' low. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows in 1214 feet. Channel and blue catfish to 26 pounds are good on trotlines baited with live perch and stinkbait. Yellow catfish to 5 pounds are good on trotlines baited with liver and perch.
FALCON: Water stained; 74 degrees. Black bass are fair on watermelon spinnerbaits and Brush Hogs in 512 feet. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on cut bait and stinkbait up the river. Yellow catfish are slow. SOUTHEAST
CONROE: Water murky; 1.59' low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse soft plastics and Rat-L-Traps in 1530 feet. Striped bass are good on live minnows and silver striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and pink tube jigs. Catfish are fair on liver and shrimp.
GIBBONS CREEK: Water clear. Black bass are fair on chartreuse blue and chartreuse green soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, shrimp, and nightcrawlers.
HOUSTON COUNTY: Water clear; 70 degrees; 0.35' high. Black bass to 9 pounds are very good on silver Rat-L-Traps near the dam. White bass are good on live minnows. Crappie are good on live minnows near the dam in 35 feet. Bream are good on live worms off piers and near grass beds. Channel and blue catfish are very good on trotlines baited with shad and bream.
LIVINGSTON: Water fairly clear; 68 degrees; 0.27' low. Black bass to 4 pounds are good on spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Striped bass are fair on Rat-L-Traps. White bass are fair on pet spoons, hellbenders, and Charlie slabs. Crappie are good on minnows. Blue catfish are good on shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
SAM RAYBURN: Water lightly stained; 73 degrees; 7.56' low. Black bass are good on pumpkinseed soft plastic worms, crankbaits, and watermelon topwaters in 2035 feet. White bass are good on minnows and silver spoons. Crappie are fair on live minnows and green tube jigs. Bream are fair on worms. Catfish are good on stinkbait, shrimp, and minnows.

GREENBELT: Water lightly stained; 55 degrees; 26.73' low. Black bass are fair on shad colored spinnerbaits and crankbaits along secondary points and tree lines, and on green pumpkin/brown jigs worked slow around grass lines. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live bait and small crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are fair on shad colored crankbaits along grass lines. Walleye are good on live bait and crankbaits. Catfish are good on minnows and prepared bait.
MACKENZIE: Water lightly stained; 53 degrees; 75.24' low. Black bass are fair on shad colored crankbaits and spinnerbaits around stickups and rocky points. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass and striped bass are fair on minnows and chrome jerkbaits. Smallmouth bass are fair on shad colored crankbaits. Walleye are fair on minnows and small crankbaits. Catfish are fair on live bait.
MEREDITH: Water lightly stained; 56 degrees; 71.42' low. Black bass are fair on shad colored crankbaits and jerkbaits along secondary points and rocky points. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. ARROWHEAD: Water lightly stained; 62 degrees; 5.57' low. Black bass are fair on chatterbaits and crankbaits off rocky points. Crappie are good on jigs fished deep off the derricks. White bass are fair while schooling - chasing shad on the surface early and late. Blue catfish are fair on juglines and fishing with cut shad on flats in 8-12 feet.
COLORADO CITY: Water clear; 64 degrees; 6.13' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow.
FT. PHANTOM HILL: Water clear; 65 degrees; 0.31' low. Black bass are fair on live bait. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on live bait. Catfish are fair on cut and prepared bait.
HUBBARD CREEK: Water lightly stained; 64 degrees; 2.52' low. Black bass to 7 pounds are good on white buzzbaits along shallow stickups (midday), shad colored spinnerbaits along points and stickups, and black/blue jigs worked along timber. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. White bass and hybrid striper are good on live bait and crankbaits. Catfish are good on live bait.

O.H. IVIE: Water lightly stained; 63 degrees; 11.72' low. Black bass are fair on shad colored spinnerbaits, black/chartreuse jigs and live bait worked along points and drop-offs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live bait and chrome crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are fair on live bait. Channel catfish are good on live bait.
POSSUM KINGDOM: Water stained; 62 degrees; 2.39' low. Black bass are good on secondary points with white spinnerbaits and silver crankbaits in 2-10 feet. Crappie are fair on small white jigs worked along wood structure in the Rock Creek area. White bass are very good on spoons, Little George's, and Silver Rat-L-Traps while schooling along points in mid-lake coves. Striped bass are good on live shad below the dam. Catfish are good on live shad, cut bait and liver along the river channel on the north end.
SPENCE: Water lightly stained; 64 degrees; 50.98' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Striped bass and hybrid striper are slow. Catfish are slow.
STAMFORD: Water lightly stained; 64 degrees; 2.51' low. Black bass are fair on live bait, slow-rolled shad colored spinnerbaits and soft plastic jerkbaits worked along rocky points. Crappie are fair on live bait. White and striped bass are fair on live bait. Catfish are fair on live bait.
SWEETWATER: Water lightly stained; 62 degrees; 1.22' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are slow. Catfish are fair on live bait.
WHITE RIVER: Water lightly stained; 61 degrees; 28.66' low. Black bass are fair on shad colored crankbaits along points and channels. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Walleye are fair on live bait. Channel catfish are fair on cut shad.
WICHITA: Water stained and clearing; 61 degrees; 0.37' low. Crappie are slow near pavilion pilings and off the dam. Hybrid striper to 7 pounds and white bass are fair on minnows and live shad near the dam and pavilion poles. Channel catfish are fair drifting shad and on trotlines.
COASTAL
NORTH SABINE: Trout are good under birds in the middle of the lake. Flounder are fair on the Louisiana shoreline on jigs tipped with shrimp. Redfish are good in the river on live shad.
SOUTH SABINE: Redfish are good at the jetty on shrimp and mullet. Flounder are fair around Blue Buck Point and on the flats adjacent to the channel on jigs tipped with shrimp.
BOLIVAR: Bull redfish are good around the cuts and passes leading to the Intracoastal. Flounder and redfish are fair to good around Rollover Pass on jigs tipped with shrimp.
TRINITY BAY: Trout are good under the birds. Better trout have been taken around pods of bait. Redfish are fair to good at the spillway on crabs, shrimp and soft plastics. Blue catfish are good in the marsh.
EAST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are fair to good while drifting slicks and reefs on soft plastics. Trout are good under the birds.
WEST GALVESTON BAY: Flounder are fair to good around the railroad bridge and causeway. Flounder are good at Sea Wolf Park on Gulps and shrimp.
TEXAS CITY: Black drum, redfish and gafftop are fair to good around the rocks on shrimp. Bull redfish are good in the channel on crabs and mullet.
FREEPORT: Bull redfish and jack crevalle are fair to good in the surf on crabs and mullet. Trout and redfish are good around shell in Christmas Bay on live shrimp and topwaters.
EAST MATAGORDA: Trout are good while drifting mid-bay reefs on roach Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Small topwaters have worked for redfish. Large sand trout have been caught as well on plastics.
MATAGORDA: Trout and redfish are fair on the south shoreline grass beds. Redfish and black drum are fair to good in Crab Lake and Oyster Lake on live shrimp. Fishing at night in the Colorado River has been steady.
PORT O'CONNOR: Bull redfish are good at the jetty on crabs and mullet. Redfish good on the flats on small topwaters.
ROCKPORT: Bull redfish are fair to good in the Lydia Ann Channel on crabs. Flounder are hanging around the humps and points leading to the channel.
PORT ARANSAS: Trout, redfish, whiting and sand trout are fair to good at the jetty on shrimp. Redfish are fair to good around East Flats and Hog Island on shrimp and Gulps.
CORPUS CHRISTI: Trout are fair to good around the spoils on soft plastics. Trout and redfish are fair to good on live shrimp and Gulps on the grass beds on the incoming tide. Redfish are good on the flats on the incoming tide.
BAFFIN BAY: Trout are good around the grass near the Land Cut. Trout are fair to good around rocks on soft plastics, live bait and topwaters. Redfish are good on the edge of the channel on live bait.
PORT MANSFIELD: Trout are good for waders tossing topwaters along the drop-offs in waist-deep water. Redfish are good in East Cut on crabs and finger mullet. Redfish are good on the flats for sight-casters tossing to large schools.
SOUTH PADRE: Redfish are good along the edge of the flats on shrimp and Gulps. Snook are good in South Bay on live shrimp and shrimp imitations. Trout are fair to good for waders working the grass beds on small topwaters.
PORT ISABEL: Trout are fair to good while drifting sand and grass on soft plastics and DOA Shrimp under popping corks. Redfish are good at Three Island on gold spoons and soft plastics.
