Atkinson Toyota Fishing Report

AROUND THE STATE

AUSTIN (AP) -- Here is the weekly fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for Dec. 2. (Report also available on Web as www.txfishing.com.)

CENTRAL

BASTROP: Water lightly stained. Black bass are good on chartreuse and chartreuse/white soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are very good on stinkbait, chicken livers, and nightcrawlers. Yellow catfish are slow.

BELTON: Water clear; 68 degrees; 2.12' low. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

BROWNWOOD: Water clear; 69 degrees; 4.54' low. Black bass to 3 pounds are fair on black/blue jigs, Persuader crankbaits, and 3/16oz. Pig Sticker Shaky Heads with redbug and watermelon red GrandeBass 4" Trickster worms along docks, around rocks, and over brush piles in 8-15 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Li'l Fishies and crankbaits from lighted docks at night. Crappie are good on Li'l Fishies and minnows over brush piles near Hwy. 279 Bridge in 10-20 feet. Channel catfish are fair on cut bait and nightcrawlers over baited holes in 12-15 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

BUCHANAN: Water clear; 68 degrees; 15.12' low. Black bass are good on 1/4oz. Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps, Texas rigged weightless watermelon/blue flake Whacky Sticks, pumpkin/chartreuse Curb's jigs, and smoke/red flake JDC Spider Grubs on stump flats in 28 feet. Striped bass are good on Spoiler Shads (plastic swim baits), Rat-L-Traps, jigging Pirk Minnows, and drifting or free lining live bait in 25-40 feet. White bass are fair on Tiny Traps and 2" plastic swim baits along the river channel and in deep creeks. Crappie are fair on crappie jigs and live minnows over brush piles in 12-15 feet. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live goldfish.

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 67 degrees; 10.47' low. Black bass are very good on Rat-L-Traps and P.B.J plastic stickbaits over flats and along break lines creeks and bays in 2-10 feet, and on green pumpkin Whacky Sticks on jigheads and Texas rigged blue flake Scoundrel worms on shaky head jigs along bluffs inside secondary points. Striped bass are fair to good vertically jigging Pirk Minnows in the lower end of the lake, and on Spoiler Shads and Red Fins. Smallmouth bass are good on JDC tomato red curl tail grubs on jigheads, smoke/red flake tubes, and 3/16oz. pumpkin Curb's jigs with matching drop shot worms along ledges and over rock piles in 615 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and crappie jigs upriver. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are fair on live bait.

COLEMAN: Water clear; 69 degrees; 5.37' low. Black bass are good on tequila sunrise soft plastics, and fair on spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are good on minnows and white/blue Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are fair on stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and frozen shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLORADO RIVER: (At Colorado Bend State Park) Water clear. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers, stinkbait, and shrimp in deep holes.

FAYETTE: Water clear; 70 degrees. Black bass are fair but small on electric blue Carolina rigged Finesse worms in 10-16 feet, and on spinnerbaits along the outside edges of grass. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on stinkbait and shrimp over baited holes in 14-16 feet.

GRANBURY: Water clear; 1.74' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Striped bass are fair on minnows and chartreuse striper jigs. White bass are fair on minnows and small spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on shrimp, stinkbait, and live minnows.

GRANGER: Water murky; 55 degrees; 3.39' low. Black bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs in 15-20 feet. Blue catfish are fair on fresh shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

LBJ: Water stained; 69 degrees; 0.19' low. Black bass are very good on 1/8oz. Curb's buzzbaits, Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps, and wacky rigged green pumpkin Whacky Sticks in 26 feet. White bass are fair vertically jigging Pirk Minnows under birds. Crappie are good on Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows over brush piles in 12-15 feet. Channel catfish are fair on minnows under crappie docks.

NAVARRO MILLS: Water murky; 70 degrees; 2.63' low. Black bass are good but small on minnows. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and pink and chartreuse tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on juglines baited with frozen shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

PROCTOR: Water stained; 70 degrees; 4.36' low. Black bass are good on black/purple and chartreuse soft plastic worms and crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good but small on minnows, small Rat-L-Traps, and roadrunners. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs in 15 feet. Channel and blue catfish to 3 pounds are good on juglines baited with cut shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

SOMERVILLE: Water fairly clear; 2.75' low. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on juglines baited with cut shad and perch. Yellow catfish are slow.

STILLHOUSE: Water murky; 63 degrees; 4.09' low. Black bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

TRAVIS: Water clear; 67 degrees; 24.50' low. Black bass to 6 pounds are good on crawfish crankbaits, watermelon worms, and jigs in 15-38 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on white jigging spoons and minnows in 28-45 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and pink tube jigs in 20-40 feet. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

WALTER E. LONG: Water clear; 70 degrees. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are fair on minnows and worms. White bass are fair on minnows and worms. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

WHITNEY: Water clear; 8.99' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon, watermelon red, and watermelon gold spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are fair on minnows and white striper jigs. White bass are fair on minnows and jigging spoons. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on shrimp, liver, and stinkbait.

NORTHEAST

ATHENS: Water lightly stained, 53-58 degrees; 0.62' low. Black bass are fair on shad pattern chatterbaits, crankbaits and 3/8oz. black/blue jigs. Crappie are fair on live minnows. Catfish are fair to good on Redneck's Catfish Bait.

BOB SANDLIN: Water fairly clear; 52-57 degrees; 0.54' low. Black bass are fair on wacky rigs, Rat-L-Traps and Senkos. White bass are good on slabs and Rooster Tails. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs around the Hwy 21 bridge columns a few cranks off the bottom. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and cut bait.

BRIDGEPORT: Water fairly clear; 52-57 degrees; 7.21' low. Black bass are fair on chrome/blue back Rat-L-Traps, crankbaits and jigs. Catfish are fair on stinkbait and cut shad. White bass are fair on jigging spoons and minnows. Crappie are slow.

CADDO: Water off color; 52-58 degrees; 0.59' high. Black bass are good on jigs, white spinnerbaits and flukes fished around vegetation. Crappie are excellent on red/white or red/green jigs in the pads along deeper creeks. White and yellow bass are good on small spoons and tailspinners.

CEDAR CREEK: Water stained; 53-58 degrees; 2.3' low. Black bass are fair on firetiger crankbaits, jigs and Carolina rigged 6" lizards. White bass are fair to good on chartreuse/white slabs. Hybrid striper are slow to fair on live shad and Sassy Shad. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and cut shad.

COOPER: Water stained; 52-57 degrees; 5.13' low. No report available.

FAIRFIELD: Water fairly clear; 74-88 degrees. No report available.

FORK: Water lightly stained; 53-58 degrees; 0.63' low. Black bass are fair on black/blue jigs, 1/2oz. crawdad pattern Rat-L-Trap and spoons. Crappie are good on minnows and small jigs in 22-26 feet under main lake bridges and around brush piles. Catfish are good on prepared baits in 22-24 feet along creeks.

GRAPEVINE: Water off color; 53-58 degrees; 6.51' low. Black bass are slow to fair on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, drop shot rigs and finesse jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs and Humdingers. Catfish are fair on cut bait and chartreuse (use Worm-Glo) nightcrawlers.

JOE POOL: Water off color; 53-58 degrees; 2.25' low. Black bass are good on drop shot rigs and crankbaits in 6-10 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs around bridge columns and brush piles. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared baits.

LAKE O' THE PINES: Water stained; 53-58 degrees; 0.04' low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits, crankbaits and black/blue Power Worms. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs in 20-25 feet (December 1st thru February 28th anglers keep their first 25 crappie regardless of size). Catfish are good on bloodbait. Bream are slow to fair on cut nightcrawlers.

LAVON: Water stained; 52-57 degrees; 4.56' low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and Texas rigged worms fished around riprap. Crappie are good on minnows in 2030 feet. White bass are fair on white/chartreuse slabs fished vertically on main lake points in 15-25 feet. Catfish are fair to good drifting fresh shad around main lake points.

LEWISVILLE: Water off color; 53-57 degrees; 4.05' low. Black bass are fair on chrome Rat-L-Traps, crankbaits and Carolina rigs. Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair to good drift fishing cut and live shad.

MARTIN CREEK: 3.93' low. No report available.

MONTICELLO: Water fairly clear; 74-90 degrees; 0.35' low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to wacky rigs, Rat-L-Traps and chatterbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are fair to good on cut shad and nightcrawlers.

PALESTINE: Water lightly stained; 53-58 degrees; 0.22' low. Black bass are fair to good on Carolina rigged watermelon lizards, chatterbaits and jigging spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs in 20-25 feet around brush piles and creek channels. Catfish are fair on trotlines with live perch. Bream are slow. Hybrid striper and white bass are fair on shad and slabs.

RAY HUBBARD: Water stained; 52-57 degrees; 1.18' low. Black bass are fair on white/chartreuse spinnerbaits, firetiger jerkbaits, Carolina rigs and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs over brush piles. White bass are fair on slabs and minnows. Hybrid striper are slow to fair on slabs. Catfish are fair on chartreuse (use Worm-Glo) nightcrawlers.

RAY ROBERTS: Water stained; 52-58 degrees; 2.03' low. Black bass are fair on drop shot rigged Baby Ring Frys and Yum Dingers. Crappie are good on jigs in the creeks in 3-5 feet. White bass are excellent on chartreuse slabs and CC Jigging Spoons. Catfish are good on prepared bait under the cormorant roosts.

RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water off color; 53-58 degrees; 3.8' low. Black bass are fair to good on crankbaits, Texas rigged purple worms and jigs. White bass and hybrid striper are fair to good on live shad and white/chartreuse slabs on main lake humps. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs around deep-water trees. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers, prepared bait and liver.

TAWAKONI: Water lightly stained; 53-57 degrees; 3.88' low. Black bass are fair on white/chartreuse spinnerbaits, flukes and black/blue jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs over brush piles. White bass are fair on slabs and live minnows. Striped bass and hybrid striper are fair on live shad and topwaters. Catfish are fair on prepared baits.

TEXOMA: Water off color; 53-58 degrees; 1.93' low. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, chrome crankbaits and Carolina rigs. Crappie are slow on minnows and jigs. Striped bass are good on slabs, Sassy Shad and live shad.

WEATHERFORD: Water lightly stained; 53-56 degrees; 5.29' low. Black bass are good on finesse worms, jerkbaits and spinnerbaits around docks and on rocky points. Crappie are good in the fishing barge and boat slips on minnows and green/chartreuse with pink head jigs. Channel catfish are good on minnows and dough bait. Yellow catfish are good on live sunfish. White bass are good on minnows and slabs. Bream are good on worms.

WRIGHT PATMAN: Water lightly stained; 52-58 degrees; 4.19' high. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits, flukes and jigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on chartreuse (use Worm-Glo) nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

SOUTH

AMISTAD: Water clear; 67 degrees; 1.15' high. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits, crankbaits, soft plastics, and jigs. Striped bass are good on Rat-L-Traps and slabs. White bass are good on Rat-L-Traps and slabs. Catfish are good on cheesebait and nightcrawlers over baited holes in 15-35 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines and droplines baited with live perch. If anyone in your boat is fishing and you are on the Mexico side of the lake, all people in the boat must have a Mexico fishing license.

BRAUNIG: Water stained; 70 degrees. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are fair on live shad. Redfish are fair on live perch and shad near the dam. Channel catfish are good on chicken livers, shrimp, and cut shad. Blue catfish are good on cut bait.

CALAVERAS: Water stained; 70 degrees. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are fair on live shad. Redfish are fair on live perch, shad, and spoons in 15-25 feet. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are very good on chicken livers, shrimp, and cut shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

CHOKE CANYON: Water lightly stained; 70 degrees; 4.89' low. Black bass to 5 pounds are good on watermelon and pumpkinseed soft plastic worms in heavy grass and in 12-20 feet. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Drum are fair on live worms. Channel and blue catfish are good on punchbait in 27 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on live perch.

COLETO CREEK: Water clear; 70 degrees (77 degrees at discharge); 3.88' low. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch and worms. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with perch.

FALCON: Water clear; 72 degrees. Black bass are fair on football jigs, large soft plastic worms, 7" Carolina rigged Senkos, and slow rolling spinnerbaits in 14-18 feet. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on cut bait and doughbait. Yellow catfish are slow. If anyone in your boat is fishing and you are on the Mexico side of the lake, all people in the boat must have a Mexico fishing license.

SOUTHEAST

CONROE: Water murky; 1.06' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and Rat-L-Traps in 20-30 feet. Striped bass are fair on live minnows. Crappie are good on minnows and green tube jigs. Catfish are fair on stinkbait and shrimp.

GIBBONS CREEK: Water clear. Black bass are good on watermelon red and watermelon gold soft plastics and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are fair on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, shrimp, and liver.

HOUSTON COUNTY: Water clear; 54 degrees; 0.54' high. Black bass to 5 pounds are good on black/blue J's Zone 27 in 13 feet. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on live minnows off piers on the north side of the lake. Bream are good on live worms near grass beds. Channel and blue catfish are slow.

LIVINGSTON: Water fairly clear; 68 degrees; 0.07' high. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Striped bass are fair on crankbaits and Rat-L-Traps. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Blue catfish are good on shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

SAM RAYBURN: Water lightly stained; 70 degrees; 7.45' low. Black bass are fair on tequila sunrise soft plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits, and on watermelon red topwaters in 20-35 feet. White bass are good on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Bream are fair on worms. Catfish are good on stinkbait, shrimp, and liver.

STEINHAGEN: 0.47' high. No report available.

TOLEDO BEND: Water clear; 70 degrees; 3.85' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red and watermelon gold soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Striped bass are fair on minnows and chartreuse striper jigs. White bass are good on minnows and silver spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles. Bream are fair on worms. Channel and blue catfish are good on minnows, shrimp, and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

PANHANDLE

GREENBELT: Water lightly stained; 49 degrees; 27.54' low. Black bass are slow on shad colored crankbaits along secondary points, and on black/blue jigs and live bait along tree lines. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. White bass are fair on live bait and small crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are fair on live bait along channels and rocky points. Walleye are good on live bait and crankbaits. Catfish are good on minnows and prepared baits.

MACKENZIE: Water lightly stained; 48 degrees; 75.91' low. Black bass are slow on shad colored crankbaits and live bait worked around stickups and rocky points. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White and striped bass are fair on minnows and chrome jerkbaits. Smallmouth bass are fair on shad colored crankbaits. Walleye are fair on minnows and small crankbaits. Catfish are fair on live bait.

MEREDITH: Water lightly stained; 48 degrees; 71.91' low. Black bass are slow on shad colored crankbaits and minnows along rocky points. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. White bass are fair on live bait and shad colored crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are good on live bait around rocky points. Walleye are fair on live bait. Channel catfish are fair on cut or live bait.

PALO DURO: Water lightly stained; 46 degrees; 52.74' low. Black bass are slow on live bait. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Smallmouth bass are slow on live bait. Walleye are fair. Channel catfish are fair on minnows.

WEST

ALAN HENRY: Water lightly stained; 55 degrees; 0.11' low. Black bass are fair on shad colored spinnerbaits, black/chanteuse jigs and minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on live bait.

ARROWHEAD: Water lightly stained; 53 degrees; 5.93' low. Black bass are fair on chatterbaits and crankbaits off secondary points. Crappie are good on jigs fished deep off the derricks. White bass are fair. Blue catfish are fair on juglines and fishing with cut shad or cheese bait on flats in 9-13 feet.

COLORADO CITY: Water clear; 56 degrees; 6.11' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow.

FT. PHANTOM HILL: Water clear; 57 degrees; 0.56' low. Black bass are slow on live bait. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair. Catfish are fair on prepared baits.

HUBBARD CREEK: Water lightly stained; 55 degrees; 2.51' low. Black bass are fair on white spinnerbaits along shallow stickups and timber. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. White bass and hybrid striper are good on live bait and crankbaits. Catfish are good on live bait.

NASWORTHY: Water lightly stained; 56 degrees. Black bass are slow on live bait. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Redfish are fair. White and striped bass are fair. Catfish are fair on cut shad.

OAK CREEK: Water lightly stained; 53 degrees; 2.01' low. Black bass are fair. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.

O.H. IVIE: Water lightly stained; 56 degrees; 11.72' low. Black bass are fair on black/blue jigs and live bait worked along points and drop-offs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live bait. Smallmouth bass are fair on live bait. Channel catfish are good on live bait.

POSSUM KINGDOM: Water stained; 55 degrees; 2.56' low. Black bass are fair on secondary points. Crappie are fair on small white jigs worked along timber. White bass are fair on spoons and Silver Rat-L-Traps while schooling along points in mid lake coves. Catfish are good on live shad, cut bait and liver along the river channel.

SPENCE: Water lightly stained; 55 degrees; 50.55' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Striped bass and hybrid striper are slow. Catfish are slow.

STAMFORD: Water lightly stained; 54 degrees; 2.21' low. Black bass are fair on live bait worked along channels and drop-offs. Crappie are fair on live bait. White and striped bass are fair on live bait. Catfish are fair on live bait.

SWEETWATER: Water lightly stained; 53 degrees; 1.59' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are slow. Catfish are fair on live bait.

WHITE RIVER: Water lightly stained; 50 degrees; 27.99' low. Black bass are fair on shad colored crankbaits along points and channels. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Walleye are fair on live bait. Channel catfish are fair on cut shad.

WICHITA: Water stained and clearing; 48 degrees; 0.69' low. Crappie are fair on minnows and live shad around the dam and pavilion poles. Hybrid striper to 7 pounds and white bass are fair on minnows or live shad around the dam and pavilion poles. Channel catfish are fair drifting shad and on trotlines. The city of Wichita Falls has made recent boat ramp improvements on the lake.

COASTAL

NORTH SABINE: Trout and redfish are good in the river on live shad. Trout are fair to good under the birds in the middle of the lake on soft plastics and topwaters.

SOUTH SABINE: Trout are fair to good while drifting shell and pods of shad. Bull redfish are good at the jetty on crabs and shrimp. Flounder are fair to good around the cuts and bayous leading to the lake.

BOLIVAR: Redfish are good in Rollover Pass on natural baits. Flounder are fair to good on the shorelines on jigs tipped with shrimp.

TRINITY BAY: Trout are fair to good in 4-7 feet of water while working slicks and pods of mullet. Redfish are fair to good around the spillway on natural baits. Birds have worked on the north shoreline when the wind allows.

EAST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are fair to good while drifting shell in 4-6 feet of water on soft plastics. Birds have worked on the north shoreline. Sand trout are good in the Intracoastal on live shrimp and fresh dead.

WEST GALVESTON BAY: Trout have been caught while drifting shell and mud. Bull redfish and sharks have been taken at the jetty on a variety of natural baits. Bull reds and red snapper are good in state waters.

TEXAS CITY: Flounder are fair along the edge of the channel on mud minnows. Bull reds and sand trout are good on shrimp.

FREEPORT: Bull redfish are good at the jetty on shrimp and crabs. Flounder are fair to good at San Luis Pass on soft plastics tipped with shrimp and mud minnows.

EAST MATAGORDA: Trout are fair to good while drifting over shell. Waders have taken better trout over shell and mud. Redfish have been mixed with trout under birds.

WEST MATAGORDA: Trout are fair to good while drifting mud and shell on Gulps under popping corks. Trout are fair on the south shoreline of West Bay over sand and grass on Bass Assassins, Sand Eels and Trout Killers. Redfish are good in the Diversion Channel on shrimp.

PORT O'CONNOR: Bull redfish are good at the jetty on crabs, finger mullet and live shrimp. Trout are good over shell and mud in San Antonio Bay on soft plastics and topwaters. Trout are good on shrimp while anchored over reefs near the deep channels.

ROCKPORT: Trout are fair to good over shell and mud for waders working topwaters and soft plastics in Copano Bay. Redfish are good on live shrimp under a cork while drifting the Estes Flats. Falling tides should congregate fish in the channels.

PORT ARANSAS: Sand trout and redfish are good at the jetty on shrimp. Redfish are fair to good around East Flats and Dagger Island on Gulps and shrimp. Bull redfish are good at the jetty on crabs, finger mullet, cut-bait and fresh table shrimp.

CORPUS CHRISTI: Redfish are good in the channels and deep holes on natural baits. Trout are fair on the reefs in Nueces Bay on live bait. Trout are fair to good from the piers at night on live bait.

BAFFIN BAY: Good catches of trout have been taken under lights at night in the Land Cut on live shrimp and glow plastics. Trout and redfish are good on the edge of the channel on soft plastics.

PORT MANSFIELD: Trout are good around pods of bait on topwaters and soft plastics. Redfish are good in the surf around East Cut on mullet and other natural baits.

SOUTH PADRE: Redfish are good on the flats on DOA Shrimp and Gulps. Snook are good in the Brownsville Ship Channel on shrimp and DOA Shrimp. Mangrove snapper and sand trout are beginning to show at the jetty on shrimp.

PORT ISABEL: Trout and redfish are good on the edge of the Intracoastal as tides recede. Redfish are good around the spoils on live shrimp, Gulps and DOA Shrimp under popping corks. Trout are fair to good over sand and grass on the same baits.
