Shaw wins Spring Preview: GEORGETOWN -- College Station's Chris Shaw birdied the par-4, 418-yard No. 18 at Cimarron Hills Golf Club to win the rain-shortened Texas Legends Junior Tour Spring Preview by one-stroke over three players on March 11.
The 16-year-old Shaw shot a 3-over 75 to post the low round of the tournament across all divisions.
College Station's Mike Eyeington shot 80 to take 12th.
Shaw earned exemptions into this summer's EDS Byron Nelson Junior Championship and Texas State Junior Boys Championship. He also earned an AJGA tournament exemption.
BASEBALL
Bryan Little League East is looking for umpires for the Spring 2008 season. Interested individuals can contact the umpire coordinator at 979-778-6627.
BCS Baseball is hosting a USSSA baseball tournament in the Bryan-College Station area on April 26-27. Tournaments also will be held May 10-11, May 31-June 1 and June 21-22.

College Station Little League is looking for umpires for the Spring 2008 season.

FISHING
The 25th Annual KCKL 95.9 FM Big Bass Tournament is March 29-30 at Cedar Creek Lake.
Entry fee is $65 per day. Youth entry fees (under 16 years old) are $10 per day.

RUNNING
A Jeff Galloway marathon training program is starting in the Bryan-College Station area with the kick-off event set for 7 p.m. April 3 at the Wings-n-More party room on Deacon in College Station.
Galloway, a former Olympian, will be at the kick-off.
Interested runners will begin training for the San Antonio Marathon/Half-Marathon in November. Runners will train on Saturday mornings in pace groups. Participants will train on their own during the week with a provided schedule.
Cost for the full-marathon program (29 weeks) is $159 while the half-marathon program (16 weeks) is $99.

SOFTBALL
The 2008 Bryan-Rudder softball camp is set for June 30-July 3 at the Bryan High Softball Complex.
The camp, which runs from 8:30-11:30 a.m. each day, costs $60. Discounts are given for two or more siblings ($50 each). Child care is also available from 7:45-8:30 a.m. for an additional $10.
The camp is open to girls in second through eighth grades (2007-2008 school year). For more information, contact camp director Enrique Luna at 209-7970 or 571-5273.
Registration is now open for the 2008 Texas A&M softball camp.
A&M head coach Jo Evans, in her 12th season at the helm of Aggie softball, and associate head coaches Joy Jackson and Mary Jo Firnbach will be joined by current and former players as well as various high school and collegiate coaches to offer individual and group instruction with an emphasis on fundamentals.
The varsity camp for ages 13-18 is June 15-18 while a camp for 9- to 12-year-olds is June 19-22.

Aggie Swim Club competes at Sectionals: The Aggie Swim Club set 11 individual and three relay records at the USA Sectionals Championship at the Texas A&M Student Rec Center Natatorium on Feb. 28-March 2.
In the 13- to 14-year-old girls division, Robyn Miller set records in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.07), 100 breaststroke (1:19.90) and 200 breaststroke. Stacie O'Shea set a 200 backstroke record (2:10.88) for the 15-18 girls, and Kara Armstrong set records in the 50 freestyle (26.08) and 100-y butterfly (59.53).
For the 15-18 boys, Ben Munster set records in the 500 freestyle (4:41.50), 400 freestyle (4:18.65), 800 freestyle (8:54.57) and 1,500 freestyle (16:56.11), while Sean O'Shea set a record in the 200 breaststroke (2:08.97).
The senior boys set three relay records.
Darren Drake, Jack Burley, Trevor Nichols and Henry Clark set a 400 freestyle relay record (3:44.97). Brett Cast, Burley, Munster and Henry Clark set the 800 freestyle relay record (8:16.29), and Drake, Sean O'Shea, Clark and Burley set a record in the 400 medley relay.

Aggie Swim Club finishes 18th at TAGS: ADDISON -- The Aggie Swim Club placed 18th out of more than 60 teams at the Texas Age Group Swimming (TAGS) State Championship Meet hosted by North Texas Swimming on March 6-9. The 11- to 12-year-old boys placed fourth in their age group and 10th overall among all boys teams.
Fourteen individual and seven relay records were achieved at the meet.
For the 11-12 girls, Brittany Thurstin set records in the 50-yard freestyle (26.30) and 100 butterfly. In the 11-12 boys division, Matthew Bitara set records in the 50 freestyle (25.42), 100 freestyle, 50 backstroke (28.64), 50 butterfly and 100 butterfly.
Also setting records for the 11-12 boys: Harrison Jones, 500 freestyle; Jaron Wagner, 100 backstroke (1:04.35); John Nalley, 200 backstroke; and, David Deng, 50 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke (2:35.69).
Robyn Miller set the 13-14 girls record in the 100 breaststroke and Hayden Duplechain set a 13-14 boys record in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.85).
The team of Bitara, Wagner, Jones and Deng set records in the 200 freestyle relay, the 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay.
The team of Bitara, Wagner, Jones and Fernando Zambrano set a 400 freestyle relay record. The team of Haley Clark, Robyn Miller, Melissa Williams and Shelby Beverly set records for the 13-14 girls in the 200 freestyle relay (1:44.25), 400 freestyle relay (3:44.70) and 200 medley relay.
Haley Clark also qualified for Sectionals in the 100 backstroke (1:01.48).
