DARLINGTON, S.C. -- Kyle Busch won the battle of attrition Saturday night as NASCAR's least popular driver overcame a pit-road penalty and several scrapes with the wall to win at Darlington Raceway.
Busch's third Sprint Cup Series victory of the season hardly thrilled the crowd, which viciously booed him in prerace introductions and hadn't softened by the time he took the checkered flag.
His win at Darlington was his eighth of the season spanning NASCAR's top three series, and he has won most of them in convincing fashion. This one was no different, as Busch led a race-high 169 of the 367 laps in a Toyota he described early in the race as the "most pathetic" he'd ever driven.

Colorado's Ugo Ihemelu was issued a yellow card in the 86th minute for an intentional handball in the box. De Rosario took the penalty kick and fired a shot into the left corner to give the Dynamo the lead.
Houston (1-2-4) opened the scoring in the 43rd minute when Brian Ching took an upfield pass from Stuart Holden for a breakaway. Ching faked out Rapids goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul and scored into an empty net. It was Houston's first score in 234 minutes.
Colorado (3-4-0) tied the game in the 68th minute when Christian Gomez fed Omar Cummings a pass on the right box that he shot past a diving Pat Onstad.
Real Salt Lake 2, FC Dallas 1: SALT LAKE CITY -- Kyle Beckerman scored the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute and Real Salt Lake stayed unbeaten at home with a 2-1 win over FC Dallas on Saturday night.
Beckerman softly one-touched a chip pass from Andy Williams through the legs of FC Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala for Real Salt Lake (2-3-2), which has two wins and two ties in its four home games this season.
Trailing 1-0, Kenny Cooper tied the game for FC Dallas in the 56th minute. His goal helped FC Dallas (2-2-3) avoid going scoreless in its third straight game. Cooper's equalizer came off an assist from Andre Rocha and was the team's first goal since beating Chivas USA 2-0 on April 20. Dallas is 1-1-2 on the road this season.
Javier Morales gave RSL a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute. Sala attempted to clear the ball at the top of his penalty box, however the ball hit Rocha in the back and then the ball bounced off Drew Moor. Morales calmly kicked the ball through the crowd into the goal.
