BIG EVENTS

An opening Lecture and Reception is being held for the opening of the exhibit, Enduring Transformation: The Kazakh People in a Changing World at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History. The Navasota Blues Museum is holding a mixer and open house from 4 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 26 at the Navasota Blues Museum, 129 E. Washington Ave., Navasota. There will be live music and refreshments.

The 3rd Annual Ballpark BeerFest is 3 to 10 p.m. on March 6 at the Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark. Regular entry to the event is free. There will be over 200 beers and wines to sample, fajita cook-off, live music, games and Kidz Zone with inflatables. Entertainment, 3 to 6 p.m.: Seth Candan, Ben Morris and the Great American Boxcar Chorus and Stan Crawford; 6 to 10 p.m.: Piano bar with John King. VIP tickets: $35/person. Hospice Brazos Valley's Mardi Gras Hospice Happening 2010 is 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Brazos County Expo Complex. The event features gaming, live and silent auction and dancing. Proceeds will help provide care to Hospice Brazos Valley patients. Sponsorships start at $250 and tickets are $60.
