BIG EVENTS

Crosswind will be performing at The Junction, 315 College Ave., at 9 p.m. Saturday with Christian rock band Fireproof. The band will also perform Sunday at 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Caldwell and Sunday at 11 a.m. at Mecedonia-Hix Baptist Church in Caldwell's morning service. Toy donations will be collected at the performances, and a portion of the merchandise sold at these performances will go toward buying toys for the children of Scotty's House. The concerts are free and open to the public. Contact Denise at 272-3184 to make donations.

The Brazos Valley Music Teachers Association's Ensemble Festival Recital is Saturday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Bryan Public Library. Students of music teachers from the BVMTA will perform in musical ensembles. The program includes pieces from classical repertoire, jazz, contemporary compositions, and Christmas tunes arrangements. The guest artist, Chris Hoffman, tenor, will perform Aria from La Boheme by G. Puccini, and two Art Songs by R. Hann and A. Copland, with pianist Gayle Worthy. The recital is free and open to the public. 204-1134.

979 Represent/Sinkhole Texas Toy Drive is Dec. 12 at Revolution Cafe and Bar. Performances by The Hangouts, Machine Meets Land, Throne of Odin, Magic Girl Band and the Ex-Optimists. Toy donations will be accepted in lieu of cover.

"Siempre! Hispanics at Texas A&M Celebrating 130 years" is an exhibit spotlighting the contributions of Hispanics to the University since the school opened in 1876. Forsyth Galleries at the MSC. Through Dec. 14.
