Bartender at Wings 'N More
Over 2 years
How did you get into the bartending business?
I have been a waiter for several years, after I grew out of being a children's underware and sock model, moved to College Station for school where I began working at Wings and worked my way up.
How would you describe your bar to someone from out of town? What kind of crowd does it attract?
A well-rounded diverse crowd. Sports bar atmosphere, so many come in to put a few back while watching the game. And our regulars that come in on a daily basis. It's very warm and friendly.
Describe the best and/or the most annoying customer you ever had:
Anyone who answers "yes" to a question with multiple answers. For example: draft or bottle? Ranch or blue cheese?
Do you have a favorite memory of working there?
Anytime Wings gets together to play Tippy Cup. I dare you to challenge us.
What's the funniest, strangest, or most akward thing you've seen on the job?
I think awkwardness is the funniest thing in the world, so I try to fullfill it daily. That or when grown men ask the girls for their wings hot and extra wet, and giggle.
Have you observed any great or painfully awful pick-up lines/attempts? Please share.
I've actually had an older gentleman ask me to take his wife out on a date and then show her a "good time." I didn't know how to respond.
What shot do customers most often ask for?
A "good one." Mostly Cop Killers
Most requested mixed drink and beer?
Whiskey, Bud Light
What's your beverage of choice?
Vodka Sprite
What's the best non-weekend day to show up? Why?
Thursday nights. For starters I'll be working, but we have crazy drink specials. $3.50 for 32 oz. Big Willy Domestic Drafts and margs.
What three songs or albums are most likely to be heard over the stereo these days when a band isn't playing?
I'm Gonna Be, by The Proclaimers
Ever served any celebrities (local or otherwise)? Who? How did they tip?
I serve (former NFL player and founder of Wings 'N More) Mark Dennard all the time ... yes, brownie points. Many NFL players and also many Aggie athletes come in.
My bar is most similar to:
Chotchkie's (Office Space)
Any daily drink specials/events you want to mention?
Special events: Anytime I work. I don't know if you know this, but I'm kind of a big deal.
