If the Northgate Music Festival doesn't provide you with an acceptable amount of Texas Country this weekend, you can get your fix from Roger Creager on Monday.
Creager will celebrate the release of his fifth CD Here It Is with a party and live performance at Hastings in College Station.
The CD will be released at midnight, but the Creager party begins 30 minutes earlier.
The Houston resident and Texas A&M graduate has been a part of the Texas Music scene since 1998, when he released his debut Having Fun All Wrong.
He since has built up a sizable following of Aggies and country fans with songs like "The Everclear Song" and is a College Station regular.
It is a good reason to stay out late on the first day of school.
For the more responsible Spotlight readers who feel the need to start the semester off right, Creager also will be performing at Ziegfest at Lake Bryan on Aug. 31.
