The color theme for this party is red and blue. Cover your table with a white sheet for easy cleaning. Then run some red and blue streamers down the center of the table. Make a centerpiece with a Spiderman toy, the birthday cake, or a bouquet of balloons placed inside a Spiderman gift bag. Scatter some toy spiders around the table. Add matching plates, napkins and cups. Hang a few Spiderman posters, balloons and matching streamers. For a fun effect use blue streamers to create a web hanging from your ceiling.
Spiderman Party Games and Activities
If your birthday child is too young for the movie, but they love Spiderman, the party games below will be age appropriate.
Stick the Spider On Spiderman Game
This game is played just like Pin the Tail on the Donkey. With a sheet of poster board and a permanent black marker, draw a spider web. Make small paper spiders with construction paper, or plastic spiders. Use glue dots (craft store) or double stick tape to attach the spiders to the web.
Spiderman’s Web Walk
Just like a cake-walk with webs! Cut circles from poster board. Use a permanent marker to draw spider webs. In the center of each web write a number 1-3. Make corresponding number cards as well. To play: Place the webs in a circle. Play Spiderman theme music (or any fun music) and have the children step from web to web. When the music stops, draw one of the numbers from a bag. The players that are standing on the webs with that number, gets a sticker or some candy. Play this game several times until every player has received a treat.
Peter Parker’s Mad Science lab
This will vary with your tolerance for mess. Provide kitchen science items and plastic containers for the kids to mix and explore. Items could include baking soda, vinegar, food color, oil, cornstarch etc. or, you could use this recipe for:
“Goop” Goop, 1 cup of corn starch, 1/4 to 1/3 cup of water, Paper cups
Venom Tag
You can actually play this with any of the Spiderman villains... A simple game of tag to release party energy is always a fun addition. Select one player to be the villain. When the game begins the villain chases the other players. Once a player is tagged, they become the new villain. Establish a safe place using blue streamers, to make a web or simply name a tree “Aunt May’s house”. This will be where the children go when they need a rest. If possible, ensure the play is fair and that all of the children are allowed a turn to be the villain.
Spiderman Party Crafts
Make spiders or webs using one of these suggestions: Use blue chenille stems (pipe-cleaners), blue pom-poms and plastic eyes. Cut two chenille stems to make 4 pieces. Twist the pieces together to make eight legs. Glue the pom-pom to the center and add the eyes. Craft glue or a hot glue gun (adult job) will be needed. The kids can make several spiders by inserting toothpicks into black gum drops.
Spiderman Cake
Cupcakes would be perfect for this party! Frost with red frosting and make webs with a black decorating tube or shoestring licorice. Place a spider ring in on the web. Make sure you tell the kids the rings are not edible. Last Page | Home
