ROWLETT, Texas -- A Dallas-area man with a bullet in his back is suing a mile-away shooting range.
Michael Domin of Rowlett lives 1.2 miles from the Garland Public Shooting Range. Domin on Thursday sued for damages, alleging a stray .22 caliber bullet struck him June 12 while he was in his yard.
The Dallas Morning News reported Friday that the 49-year-old Domin's 10 days in a hospital led to $200,000 in medical bills. He told The Associated Press he was in intensive care for six days. He says doctors have yet to remove the bullet because of where it's lodged.
Rowlett police spokesman John Ellison says there's no evidence to support that the bullet was fired from the range.
A Garland Public Shooting Range official declined comment Friday.
