Plano East inside linebacker Anthony Hines, a Rivals.com four-star recruit, verbally committed to Texas A&M on Friday, picking the Aggies over Florida, Penn State, Ohio State, TCU and UCLA.
Hines is ranked the No. 9 inside linebacker in the nation according to Rivals, and 27th overall in the state.
In a statement posted to his Twitter account (@TheAntHines_Era), the 6-foot-3, 218-pound linebacker said the recruiting process was a life-changing experience.
“After thorough analyzation with my family I am truly BLESSED to be committed to Texas A&M University,” Hines Tweeted.

Hines told The Dallas Morning News that his decision ultimately came down to his relationship with Texas A&M defensive coordinator and linebackers coach John Chavis.
According to Rivals, Hines held 79 offers.
Hines will play in the 2017 Under Armor All-American game on Jan. 1 in Orlando, Fla., alongside quarterback Kellen Mond and wide receiver Hezekiah Jones, both A&M commits.
Hines had 220 tackles this season, 133 of them solos, including 38 tackles for loss for the 6-5 Panthers.
Verbal pledges are nonbinding. National signing date is the first Wednesday in February.
