Cliff Pennington, an All-American at Texas A&M who spent 11 years in Major League Baseball, joined the Aggie coaching staff as a student assistant coach, Texas A&M head baseball coach Rob Childress announced Wednesday.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Home runs by freshmen T.J. Reeves and Tyler Ras gave the Alabama baseball team a 2-1 victory over 18th-ranked Texas A&M in Southeastern Conference action Saturday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium in front of 3,317 fans.
