Texas A&M has hired Nebraska's Terry Joseph as defensive backs coach to replace Marcel Yates.

Joseph told the Omaha-World Herald on Monday he was offered the job over the weekend.

Joseph earned $245,000 with the Cornhuskers last season.

Joseph was at Tennessee for two seasons before being hired by Nebraska's Bo Pelini just before spring drills in 2012.

Yates returned to Boise State as defensive coordinator where he coached the secondary at his alma mater from 2003-11 before coming to A&M.
