All those tuning into Jimbo Fisher’s weekly radio show Wednesday night weren’t disappointed as a fan – “Mike from Tallahassee”- when he got to ask his question made reference to the Florida State coach being sought by Texas A&M.
“Jimbo, very excited when you came on board with the program,” said Mike from Tallahassee. "Very excited to have you as the offensive coordinator. Very excited when you became the head coach. It’s been kind of a tough season. I remember watching a lot of your press conferences where you would talk about how we need to be committed to the program and keep cheering for the team and we need to be talking about that and the loyalty to the program. So I’m wondering, where’s the loyalty to the program Jimbo?”
An attendant took the microphone from “Mike from Tallahassee” and escorted him to the back of the room and evidently out of it.
That was the only A&M question during the hour show. Heck, I was surprised they even took questions.
Fisher isn’t talking about his future, but all indications are he’s coming to A&M. FSU lost a Top 100 recruit Wednesday when safety Houston Griffith from Florida’s IMG Academy backed out of his commitment.
Do you think Fisher would allow the No. 47 player in the Class of 2018 to slip away while saying nothing, unless he’s headed to A&M? Another FSU recruit, linebacker Amari Gainer, told the Tallahassee Democrat the rumors are “very unsettling” and “I know all of the rest of the recruits think the same thing.”
Don’t you get the feeling that Fisher and FSU should have parted ways before Saturday’s game against Louisiana-Monroe. Is being bowl-eligible that big of a deal to a program that’s about to be looking for a coach?
