Katie Repole, who played her last two seasons at Louisiana-Lafayette, has joined the Texas A&M softball program as a volunteer coach. Repole will coach the outfielders, assist with hitting, video, camps and clinics, and on-campus recruiting.
Repole was an assistant at Virginia the last three seasons. She was the recruiting coordinator and worked with the outfielders and offense.
Repole, who played at Smithson Valley, played her first two seasons at Illinois, making 66 starts in 79 games. She transferred to ULL, taking a redshirt in 2015, then played in five games in 2016 for the Ragin’ Cajuns.
“Coaches are defined by not only their ability to grow and adapt personally, but also their ability to help others grow and adapt, which is why the chance to learn from [A&M] coach [Jo] Evans and the rest of the staff was something I couldn’t pass up,” Repole said in a release. “Furthermore, as a native Texan, I have always been drawn to the rich traditions here at A&M as well as its unmatched fan base. I am so excited to help young women compete at the highest level possible and so grateful to Coach Evans, the rest of the staff and the athletics department for this opportunity.”
