Ag Soccer vs Brown

Texas A&M’s Katie Smith heads the ball between Brown defenders Maesay G’Bye, left, and Zoey Maxwell during the first half of a nonconference match Sunday night at Ellis Field. The Aggies played Brown to a 0-0 draw.

The 13th-ranked Texas A&M soccer team extended its shutout streak to five matches but couldn’t get the offense going in a 0-0 draw with Brown on Sunday at Ellis Field.

The Aggies held a 21-4 advantage in shots, including a 6-1 edge in shots on goal, and had 13 corner kicks to Brown’s four. A&M’s closest chance came in the 64th minute when Asdis Halldorsdottir fired a shot from six yards out off a cross, but Brown’s goalkeeper saved it in the lower right corner.

A&M freshman goalkeeper Shantel Hutton recorded her fifth straight shutout in goal, extending her scoreless streak to 529 minutes, 55 seconds.
