Texas A&M vs. South Carolina baseball

Texas A&M’s recruiting class for the 2019 season is ranked seventh by Baseball America.

LSU’s class is No. 1 in the rankings released Wednesday followed by No. 2 Vanderbilt, No. 3 Florida State, No. 4 Louisville, No. 5 Florida, No. 6 UCLA, No. 7 A&M, No. 8 Texas, No. 9 Clemson and No. 10 Miami.

A&M’s class includes six high school graduates in the magazine’s Top 500 prospects: LHP Jonathan Childress (107th), LHP/1B Joseph Menefee (247th), RHP Brandon Birdsell (268th), OF Miko Rodriguez (349th), 3B/1B Hunter Watson (354th) and LHP Christopher Weber (480th). Ty Coleman is the brother of A&M first baseman/catcher Hunter Coleman.

A&M’s class also includes junior college transfer Mikey Hoehner, a catcher from Cisco.

Two of the newcomers were drafted in June: Miller in the 38th round by the Miami Marlins and Birdsell in the 39th round by the Houston Astros.
