LIMA, Peru — Texas A&M defender Jimena Lopez helped the Mexico Women’s National Team to a 2-0 victory over Jamaica in the opener at the Pan American Games on Saturday afternoon at Estado San Marcos.

Lopez played all 90 minutes on the back line, helping hold Jamaica to just seven shots in the shutout.

Mexico will play Paraguay in its second Group A round-robin game at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The match can be seen on ESPN Deportes and ESPN3 through WatchESPN.
