BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. — The Texas A&M equestrian team beat South Carolina 9-8 on Friday in the Aggies’ Southeastern Conference opener at One Wood Farm.

Caroline Dance and Rebekah Chenelle won over fences for A&M (3-0, 1-0), while Alex Albright, Ashley Davidson and Katie Conklin won in horsemanship, and Caroline Boyle, Chenelle and Dance won on the flat and Ashton Dunkel in reining.

South Carolina fell to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in the SEC.

A&M will host Fresno State at 11 a.m. Oct. 26 at the Hildebrand Equine Complex. Admission is free.
