The Texas A&M men’s golf team named senior Chandler Phillips its MVP at the annual Aggie Golf Day on Friday at Traditions Club.
Phillips, who leads the team with a 70.30 stroke average, also earned the team’s best putter, best scrambler and mental toughness awards.
Freshman Sam Bennett was named the team’s newcomer, best driver and best ball striker of the year. Sophomore Reese Ramsey earned the Robert Ellis Coach’s Award and the B.K. and Jane Watson Award for Academic Excellence, while freshman William Paysee was name the team’s most improved player.
A&M will compete in the Southeastern Conference tournament beginning Wednesday in Saint Simons Island, Georgia.
