Jason Calanog was promoted to associate head coach for the Texas A&M men’s swimming and diving team for the 2019-20 season, head coach Jay Holmes announced Friday.

Calanog has been on the staff since 2015. Since he joined, the Aggies have finished in the top 25 at the NCAA Championships for four straight years, including 14th place this season.

Calanog was named a USA national team coach in 2016 and was a junior team coach the three seasons before that. He was the Philippines’ head coach for the 2010 Pan-Pacific Games and the 2009 FINA World Championships. He also was an assistant coach for the Philippines at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, as well as the 2007 and 2009 Southeast Asian Games.
