NAPOLI, Italy — Texas A&M junior Tyra Gittens jumped 20 feet, 10 3/4 inches to place fifth in the women’s long jump at the World University Games while competing for Trinidad & Tobago on Tuesday.

Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk of the Ukraine won at 22-5 1/4

Gittens will compete in the high jump preliminaries Thursday with the final on Saturday.
