SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A pair of Texas A&M women’s track and field athletes qualified for the NCAA Championships, and the men's and women's 4x400-meter relay teams both advanced on the third and final day of the NCAA West Preliminary rounds Saturday at Sacramento State.

LaJarvia Brown and Ciynamon Stevenson both advanced in the triple jump with Brown leaping 42 feet, 10 3/4 inches on her final jump to leap from 13th to fifth and secure her national bid. Brown’s leap bumped Stevenson to sixth with a qualifying jump of 42-9 3/4.

The 4x400 relays teams each clocked the fastest qualifying time. The women's quartet of Jarra Owens, Tierra Robinson-Jones, Jasmine Fray and Syaira Richardson finished in 3:29.01, and the men's group of Bryce Deadmon, Robert Grant, Ilolo Izu and Devin Dixon crossed in 3:03.05.

The Aggie men and women have qualified a combined 22 entries to the NCAA meet, which will be held June 5-8 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.
