Starting a season 5-0 is nothing new for head coach Kevin Sumlin's Texas A&M football teams. The Aggies have rolled to a hot start three consecutive seasons.
Saturday's opportunity to change the narrative of the past two Aggie seasons with a win over No. 9 Tennessee was the biggest storyline of the matchup, ESPN College GameDay host Rece Davis told reporters Friday.
"The fact that Texas A&M has been 5-0 the last two years and stepped into the empty elevator shaft after that and it hasn't gone well," Davis said. "This team feels different to me. There's a certain maturity on offense with [A&M offensive coordinator] Noel Mazzone being here and certainly Trevor [Knight] being at quarterback as well."
Davis and his GameDay crew will have plenty more to discuss about the game Saturday morning from 8-11 a.m. in Spence Park, across from Kyle Field.
