Rudder vs Temple BKB

Rudder’s Corbin Cunningham gets hacked by Temple defender Elcin Smith as he attempts a shot during the Rangers’ victory at The Armory on Monday night.

The Class 5A No. 8 Rudder Rangers turned a tight game into a blowout in the third quarter, outscoring Temple 28-7 on the way to a 61-30 victory over the Wildcats.

KJ Cunningham and Nick Smith led the way for the Rangers (3-0) with 14 points each. Bryson Workman and Keithron Lee followed with 10 and eight, respectively.

Temple had no one reach double figures in scoring and fell to 1-2.

Temple won the JV game 48-46 and Rudder came out on top in the freshman game 83-54.

The Rangers travel to Huntsville for a 2 p.m. tip on Tuesday.
