Miss Kylene Ann Helduser and Mr. Charles Barrett King were united in marriage on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at seven o'clock in the evening at First Presbyterian Church in San Antonio, Texas.
The double ring ceremony was officiated by Rev. Dr. Ronald W. Scates of San Antonio. Following the ceremony, the bride's family hosted a reception at the San Antonio Country Club, where guests dined on a fall harvest-inspired menu and danced until midnight to the sounds of Memphis Train Revue.
On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Argyle club.
The bride is a daughter of the late Mr. James Robert Helduser and Mrs. Janet Wiegman Helduser, of College Station, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Lt. Col. and Mrs. Donald J. Wiegman, of San Antonio, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Raymond Everett, of Groves.
The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rogers King of San Antonio. He is the grandson of the late Mr. Charles Leonidas King and Mrs. Janet R. King, of Houston, and the late Mr. Thomas Drought and Mrs. Jane Drought, of San Antonio.
The bride proceeded down the aisle unaccompanied in memory of her late father and was presented in marriage by her grandfather at the altar, carrying a cascading bouquet of white garden roses, dahlias and magnolia.
Miss Helduser wore a Pronovias creation of Chantilly and guipure lace, highlighted by bracelet-length sleeves and a bateau neckline. A grosgrain belt with a small bow at the waist complimented the cathedral-length train, paired with a tulle cathedral-length veil and blusher. She also wore a right-hand ring of pearls and gold belonging to her late grandmother, a hairpin of silver and diamonds that belonged to her great-grandmother and departed the reception wearing her mother's wedding dress.
Maid of Honor was the bride's sister, Jenna Leigh Helduser. Serving as bridesmaids were Stephanie Lee Scherr of College Station, Kristen Sasser Sterett of Corpus Christi, and Kelcie Sodolak Berry, Kendall Lea Klinkhammer, Carson Craig Moll, Elizabeth Therese Nemec and Ellen James Rigney, all of Houston. Members of the house party were Mary McGaughy Collis, Julia Gleason Jessee, Allie Manning Lahourcade, Katherine Marie Reynolds, Johanna Sheesley Rochelle, Carolyn Hinchey Shaw and Cates Piland Vanham, all of San Antonio.
Serving as Best Men were the groom's brothers, Lukin Rogers King and Thomas Drought King. The groomsmen were Taylor Glenn Dawson, William Gage Liesman, Crosby William Scofield, David Joseph Straus IV, Riley Woodley Vanham, Augustus Leonidas Vaughan, and Thomas Bennett Wallace, all originally from San Antonio. Ushers were Mitchell Butler Eads, Robert Thompson Hughes and Gregory Nathaniel Placke, all of Houston.
Kylene is a 2007 graduate of A&M Consolidated High School in College Station. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Texas A&M University and was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She is the Marketing Manager for Group 42, Inc., a multinational energy services investment firm in San Antonio. In her role, she travels globally managing marketing campaigns and corporate events in the oil and gas industry.
Barrett is a 2005 graduate of Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio. He earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from Texas A&M University, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. There, he also earned his masters degree in real estate. He is now the Capital Markets Analyst at USAA Real Estate Company after returning to his hometown of San Antonio. He previously resided in Houston and was a Vice President in the commercial real estate bank at JP Morgan Chase.
Following their honeymoon on safari in South Africa and the islands of the Seychelles, the couple will reside in San Antonio.
