Aggie WLP looking for young mentors

Eagle Staff Report

The Aggie Women in Leadership Program is searching for women in the community who are willing to serve as mentors for young Aggies during the 2004-05 school year.

The program is designed to provide leadership-focused social support by pairing volunteers with female students in their first or second year at Texas A&M University.

Faculty and staff members at Texas A&M, as well as graduate students and other women in the community, can apply. The program tries to link students to mentors who share the same academic interest.

Mentors are required to meet with their assigned students at least two times each semester. They also must commit to the program for the full year.

For more information or to apply, call the Women’s Center at 845-8784 or e-mail awil@tamu.edu for an application. Applications also are available at www.tamu.edu/awil.
