GARLAND — Services for Robert Wood Allen, 78, of Garland are set for 10 a.m. Monday at Williams Memorial Chapel in Garland.

The Rev. Dickson Riel will officiate. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Norwood Cemetery in Hearne with the Rev. Ken Byrd of Grace United Methodist Church in Hearne officiating.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Heartfield Funeral Home in Hearne.

Dr. Allen died Friday at his home.

He was born in Richland and received his medical degree from UTMB Galveston Medical School and did his internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Fort Worth. He was a family practitioner at Kingsley Medical Clinic of Garland for 40 years and served as chief of staff at Baylor of Garland. He served in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps.

Survivors include his former wife, Maribeth Allen; a son, Steve Allen; two daughters, Janet Allen and Nancy Allen; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Allen; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
