Barbara Bush to speak at Rudder

Eagle Staff Report

Former first lady Barbara Bush is scheduled to speak next week at Texas A&M University.

Bush will appear at 11 a.m. Feb. 17 in Rudder Auditorium. She will read excerpts from her new book, “Reflections: Life After the White House,” before answering questions from the audience.

The event originally was planned to be held at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center, part of the George Bush Presidential Library complex. It was moved to Rudder Auditorium to accommodate a larger audience, a foundation official said.

The former first lady’s appearance is part of the Bush Library Foundation’s Kay and Britt Rice Exhibit Lecture Series.

The lecture is free, but tickets are required to attend. Tickets will be available beginning Monday at the MSC Box Office in Rudder Tower on campus; KBTX-TV, 4141 E. 29th St. in Bryan; The Bryan-College Station Eagle, 1729 Briarcrest Drive in Bryan; and WTAW, 2700 Earl Rudder Freeway South, Suite 5000, in College Station.
