Eagle news services

Tailgate party experts have devised, invented, developed or “borrowed” recipes from one another across the country.

Here are a few tried and true crowd-pleasers:

Tailgate Beer

1 cooler

3 bags ice cubes or chunks

1 case beer

Remove cans from recyclable cardboard holder. Place cans in cooler, intermingling with ice cubes. Chill 45 minutes and serve.

Variation on Tailgate Beer

(Cold Loud Mouth Soup)

1 cooler

2 bags of ice

Three 24-packs of beer

Open the cooler, dump in three cases of beer, preferably your team’s favorite brand. Dump the bags of ice on top, mixing with cans of beer frequently. Close the cooler. To serve, pull out cold beer and open top. Serves 2 or 3 diehard fans over a 2-4-hour span. Repeat process as often as necessary or as the mood calls for.

Texas Aggie Sangria

2 cups Burgundy red wine

1 cup sugar

1 cup lemon juice

1 cup orange juice

2 cups brandy

12 ounces club soda

Served over ice in a white Styrofoam cup, it is the perfect Maroon & White drink for those hot Saturday afternoons at Kyle Field. Gig ‘em!
