College Station man charged with sexual assault

Eagle Staff Report

A 43-year-old College Station man remained jailed Saturday on $150,000 bond after being arrested Friday evening on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

An 8-year-old girl related to the man told authorities at St. Joseph Regional Health Center on July 4 that someone had raped her within the past month, authorities said. College Station police investigated the claims and arrested the man Friday, Lt. Dan Jones said.

The Bryan-College Station Eagle does not print the name of a sexual assault suspect if doing so may identify a possible victim.

In a separate case, College Station police are investigating a report by a woman Friday that she was sexually assaulted by someone she knows. Few details were available Saturday except that the woman reported the assault occurred in a home.

The woman is using the police department’s pseudonym program, in which her name is not revealed in any documentation.
