Convenience store robbery investigated

Eagle Staff Report

College Station police are investigating a Tuesday afternoon robbery at a Welsh Avenue convenience store where three juveniles bit and punched clerks who tried to stop them from stealing candy.

Two teenage girls and a boy entered the Student Korner store about 2:55 p.m., and one of the two clerks noticed a girl stealing candy, police said. When they attempted to stop her, a struggle ensued and the clerk was bitten on the arm.

The other two juveniles tried to aid in the escape, police said, by punching the other clerk in the face to stop him from assisting his coworker.

All three suspects got away from the store and were last seen heading north on Welsh Avenue riding bicycles.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the police department at 764-3600.
