Archie Bell

Services for Archie Bell, 81, of Dime Box are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Belltown.

The Rev. Bonzell Jones will officiate. Burial will be in the Belltown Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.

Mr. Bell died Monday in Ben Taub Hospital in Houston.

He was born in Lee County and was a lifelong resident of Dime Box. He was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church.

Survivors include a sister, Nancy Bell of Houston.

Rudolpho D. ‘Rudy’ Manriquez

June 21, 1944 — July 13, 2003

Services for Rudolpho D. “Rudy” Manriquez, 59, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan.

Monsignor John McCaffrey of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Manriquez died Sunday at his home.

He was born in Los Angeles and lived in Bryan for 56 years. He was owner/operator of a sewing machine repair shop. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lois “Janie” Manriquez of Bryan; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Diane Manriquez of Conroe and Rudy Anthony Manriquez of Bryan; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandra and Oscar Chavarria, Michelle and Vincent Rosas and Crystal Geneva Manriquez, all of Bryan; a brother, Tony Manriquez Jr. of Bryan; a sister, Olivia Carrara of Atlanta, Ga.; his mother, Vera Manriquez Castillo of Bryan; and eight grandchildren.

James Hulen Raney

April 29, 1943 — July 13, 2003

BEDIAS — Graveside services for James Hulen Raney, 60, of Madisonville are set for 2 p.m. Monday at the Bedias Baptist Cemetery.

The Rev. Joe Franklin and Bro. Bill Cunningham will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Bedias.

Mr. Raney died Sunday.

He was born in Mount Pleasant.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Raney of Madisonville; three sons and two daughters-in-law, David and Brandi Raney of Trinity, Allan Ray and Joy Tate of Huntsville and Jody Howard of The Woodlands; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Annette and Steve Martinez and Crystal and Jason Ivey, all of Baytown, Kimberly and Frank Frederick of New Braunfels, Samantha and Thomas Simms and Jessica Raney, all of Madisonville; two sisters, Mary Tarber and Margie Ewell, both of Baytown; and 15 grandchildren.
