Eagle staff report

A Bryan man on Monday was charged with breaking into the home of a neighbor and stealing a television set.

Eduardo Marmolejo, 44, was in the Brazos County Jail on Monday on $9,000 bail.

According to court records, a woman in the 1800 block of MacArthur Avenue told police she was walking home from visiting a friend at 4:20 a.m. when she noticed a Hispanic man coming out of her house with a 13” television.

She told officers that she watched the man carry the television down the street and take it into another home.

Records state the woman showed police her pawn shop receipt for the television and directed the officers to where she last saw the man. Once inside, police said, they found a television with a serial number matching her set.

Marmolejo was charged with theft of a habitation, a state jail felony punishable by 180 days to two years in a state jail facility and a fine of up to $10,000.
