CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The sixth-ranked Virginia men's tennis team defeated No. 24 Texas A&M, 6-1, on Friday in front of 541, the third largest crowd in school history for the Cavs.

It was the 20th straight home victory for Virginia (7-2), while A&M falls to 0-3.

A&M's lone win was by 16th-ranked Jerry Makowski at No. 1 singles over Doug Stewart, 7-5, 6-1. It was Makowski's third straight win.

A&M will continue its road trip at No. 10 Duke (3-1) on Sunday at 11 a.m.
