Three arrested in theft from Post Oak Mall
Eagle Staff Report
Three Bryan women were arrested for felony theft Tuesday on suspicion of stealing more than $3,700 worth of clothes and bedroom accessories from several stores in Post Oak Mall, authorities said.
College Station police were called to the 1900 block of Texas Avenue at about 4 p.m. in response to a suspicious vehicle. While officers were en route, they were told a vehicle had just left the mall and its occupants had stolen several items, police said.
When officers located the vehicle, the driver gave consent to search, police said.
The officers recovered numerous items of clothing, bed comforters and throw pillows from several stores in the mall, including J.C. Penney and Dillard’s, Sgt. Janice Kemp said.
Lawanda Tindle, 21; Shaneque Lewis, 25; and Shirley Jefferson, 27, were being held Tuesday night at the College Station Police Department, Kemp said.
All three will be transported to the Brazos County Jail sometime Wednesday morning, a police dispatcher said. No bond amount has been set yet.
