Pictured from left, Chief Deputy Jim Stewart, Sheriff Chris Kirk, Deputy Rickey Nance, Deputy Tucker Ellsworth and Jail Administrator Wayne Dicky.

Two new deputies were sworn into the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 6.

Tucker Ellsworth and Rickey Nance began their law enforcement careers as officers in the Brazos County Detention Center. They were selected to attend the TEEX Central Texas Police Academy, which began in August. Nance and Ellsworth completed the academy and passed the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Licensing exam. The deputies were sworn in by Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk in front of family, friends and co-workers.

Nance will return to work in the detention center. Ellsworth was selected for the patrol division.
