A&M Consolidated head volleyball coach Jennifer Kazmierski is stepping down. She was at Consol for six years total.
She said she wants to spend more time with her son and daughter, who are in 10th and eighth grade, respectively. Kazmierski was a teacher and coach for 19 years, 13 of which were as a head coach.
“I’ll definitely appreciate running back and getting cleats and doing the things moms do,” she said.
Last year, Consol finished 37-12 and advanced to the Class 5A Region III quarterfinals. It was Consol’s deepest run since a state semifinal appearance in 2014.
It wasn’t an easy decision, and Kazmierski said she loves Consol and her team. It was hard to tell them, but she told the Lady Tigers that they would be in good hands and is confident Consol will find a good successor as head coach. Consol athletic coordinator Lee Fedora said he will move as quickly as possible, and the search pool currently is “wide open.”
Kazmierski will continue to own and operate her club volleyball team, Aggie Elite Volleyball. She will not coach but will continue to help train athletes.
