A&M Consolidated softball opened up the Bryan College-Station Softball Tournament on Thursday with a 4-0 win over Conroe and 7-1 win over Georgetown East View, both coming at Tiger Field.

Mackenzie Mitchell threw a complete-game shutout in the win over Conroe, allowing one hit and striking out nine in her seven innings of work. Addie Wright, Caitlyn Dietrit, Lauren Herring and Mitchell drove in runs for the Lady Tigers.

Consol (3-0) got an extra lift from Mitchell’s bat against East View, clubbing a home run with four RBIs and three runs scored. Kristen Kaiser, Olivia Taylor and Wright each drove in a run as well.

Mitchell also worked in the circle in Game 2, striking out three over five innings. Lauren Herring pitched the final inning of the game.

The Lady Tigers are back in action with another doubleheader starting at 5 p.m. Friday at Lady Tiger Field against Southlake and Shadow Creek.
