The Brazos Valley Bombers will play the Acadiana Cane Cutters at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday at Travis Field in a Texas Collegiate League one-game playoff.

The Bombers, five-time defending TCL champions, went 9-5 against the Cane Cutters in the regular season with the teams splitting six games at Travis Field.

The Bombers (34-20) had the league’s best-overall record, nudging out the Victoria Generals (32-19) who will play the Texarkana Twins (20-33) in Wednesday’s other playoff game. Victoria won the first half to earn the top seed for Wednesday’s games.

Seeding for the best-of-3 championship series is determined by overall record. The championship series will start Thursday at the lower seed’s stadium.

In last year’s playoffs, Brazos Valley beat Texarkana in a one-game playoff then swept Acadiana in the championship series. The Bombers have won nine straight playoff games, outscoring opponents 62-13 over that streak.
