Despite graduating Bremond early to begin his career at Texas A&M, Roshauud Paul’s high school career is still garnering a heap of attention.
Paul and the Tigers made an appearance during Fox’s Super Bowl 51 pregame coverage Sunday in a feature on the importance of Texas high school football, especially in smaller communities.
Cameras followed Paul into his home as he sifted through the plethora of letters sent by colleges throughout his career. He was then shown driving to Bremond on Jan. 4 when he signed his National Letter of Intent with the Aggies.
Highlights from throughout the Tigers’ season, including their Class 2A title game last December, were also sprinkled in during the feature. Bremond has won the Class 2A Division II state title the last three seasons, making them a solid candidate to exhibit the impact of high school football on smaller communities.
Paul’s new head coach at Texas A&M, Kevin Sumlin, made an appearance in the feature as well.
“It’s a community effort, not just the football,” Sumlin said. “It’s the cheerleaders, the moms and dads, it’s everybody in town bringing the community together.”
Also shown in the feature were Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and former Austin Westlake, and current New Orleans Saints, quarterback Drew Brees.
