Last Friday the College Station girls basketball team clinched its first-ever District 18-5A title with a win over Temple and on Monday they moved up to No. 13 in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 5A rankings.

The Lady Cougars were the 15th-ranked team in last week’s poll. Along with the win over Temple, the Lady Cougars defeated Waco last week.

The district-clinching win marked the end of the regular season for the Lady Cougars. They’ll match up against the fourth-seeded team from District 17-5A in the bi-district round of the playoffs later this month.

The Navasota girls team ended its season at No. 6 in the Class 4A rankings. The Lady Rattlers went 8-0 in District 20-4A to clinch their third straight district title as they ride as 21-game winning streak.

Waco University remained atop the boys Class 5A rankings. The Trojans are 9-0 in District 18-5A action and have already clinched the district title.

Mumford landed at No. 3 in the boys Class 2A rankings and Calvert was at No. 6 in the Class 1A boys rankings. Franklin came in at No. 15 in the Class 3A girls rankings.
