VICTORIA — The Victoria Generals rallied from a seven-run deficit for a 10-8 victory over the league-leading Brazos Valley Bombers in Texas Collegiate League action Friday night.

The comeback allowed the second-place Generals (22-12, 4-2 second half) to split the two-game series with the first-half champion Bombers (23-9, 2-4).

The Generals, who trailed 7-0 after three innings, took the lead with a five-run eighth. They tied the game at 8 on an errant pickoff attempt after Zac Vooletich’s two-run single pulled Victoria within a run. Ryan Flores walked with the bases loaded to make it 9-8. The last run score on Payton Robertson’s bunt.

The Bombers built a 7-0 lead, but the Generals got a solo home run from Deryk Serbantez in the fourth, then scored three runs in the sixth with the big hit  Cole Taylor’s two-run single.

The Bombers will have two days off before continuing their six-game road trip at the Baton Rouge Rougarou on Monday and Tuesday.
