MILANO — Javareyon Bailey caught a 77-yard touchdown pass from Micah Smith with 3:13 left to cap Hearne’s fourth-quarter rally as the Eagles came back to beat Milano 27-21 on Friday in District 13-2A Division I play.

Milano (2-3, 1-1) built a 21-7 lead on Kathen Funburg’s 23-yard TD run, Devonte Jones’ 82-yard kickoff return for a TD and Jones 12-yard TD run.

Hearne (2-3, 2-1) began its rally with Jalen Gonzales’ 40-yard TD pass from Smith with 10:33 left in the fourth quarter. Smith then threw a 12-yard TD pass to Gonzales with 5:06 left to tie the score at 21-21.

Smith completed 10 of 18 passes for 163 yards with one interception. Anquan Boxley also ran for 63 yards on seven carries for Hearne.

Funburg carried 20 times for 53 yards, while Christian Thurman ran for 31 yards and caught a 49-yard pass — one of just two completions for Milano.

Hearne has an open date next week then will host Thorndale on Oct. 26. Milano will play at Thorndale on Friday.
