CAMERON — Cameron senior James DeBose ran for three long touchdowns and added a 63-yard touchdown reception in the Yoemen’s 55-0 victory over the Jarrell Cougars in District 10-3A-I play Friday.

CAMERON — Cameron’s Braden Brashear threw four touchdown passes, and Zakorien Spikes capped a three-touchdown effort with a 75-yard interception return as the Yoemen rolled to a 44-7 nondistrict victory over the Katy St. John XXIII Lions.

CAMERON — Three early turnovers doomed the Cameron football team as it fell to Troy 59-41 on Friday in a District 10-3A-I opener.

As the clock wound down last week, Anderson-Shiro football players and coaches hugged and congratulated each other. There was plenty of reason to celebrate the 46-0 win over a talented Brazos Christian team, but one thing stuck out.

GIDDINGS — Braden Brashear threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns, and James DeBose ran for 106 yards and a late TD to help Cameron beat Giddings 49-27 on Friday in nondistrict play.

CAMERON — Cameron’s quarterbacks completed all 13 passes on Friday the 13th to lead the Yoemen to a 68-34 romp over the Gatesville Hornets.

Offensive player of the week: Rockdale quarterback Jace Robinson had a stellar first week, throwing for 441 yards and four TDs on 13-of -22 passing in the Tigers’ 48-24 win over Giddings.

CAMERON — The Cameron football team stumbled into a two-score hole, but the powerful Yoemen offense racked up 510 yards in rolling past Mexia 34-21 in its season opener Friday.

AUSTIN — The Cameron girls golf team tied for eighth in the Class 3A state tournament Tuesday at Grey Rock Golf Club. McGregor won at 335–692 followed by Lago Vista (357–726) and Callisburg (359–741). Cameron shot 405-400 to tie Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill at 805.

A&M Consolidated wrestling coach David Salyer and his squad thought they had a good shot at finishing in the top three at the Class 5A Region III tournament Friday and Saturday at Pflugerville Weiss. The Tiger boys did just that, coming in second with 139 points.
